Chapter Two
"You're going with Jess?" Lorelei exclaimed as they drove home.
"I had to say someone."
"But Jess?" Lorelei asked.
"I panicked," Rory admitted.
"So how are you going to get him to agree?" Lorelei asked, resigning the issure of why she would choose him.
"I'll pay him?" Rory tried.
"You're going to pay a guy to go out with you?" her mom asked, slightly amused.
"I don't know," Rory said in frustration, "I just can't go with him."
"Spawn of Satan?" Lorelei asked her daughter.
"No, not the spawn of Satan, actually the Devil I think."
"So you're not exaggerating a little?" Lorelei asked.
"God, no."
"Okay."
"So, do you have any ideas about how I can convince Jess to go with me."
"It shouldn't take to much work."
"What do you mean?" Rory asked, looking at her mom confused.
"He's practically in love with you."
"What?" Rory exploded.
"You haven't noticed?" her mom asked her amused.
"No, 'cause he's not. We are just friends.
"Rory, I don't like him but I can tell he's in love with you."
"Did Luke put something in the coffee that you had earlier?"
"Fine, don't listen to the all knowing me."
"I won't."
"Fine."
"So how are you going to convince him?"
"I don't know."
"Oooh, you could threaten him."
"How would I threaten him?"
"You could put a gun to his head."
"I think I'd prefer to do it in a way that is not against the law."
"Suit yourself," Lorelei scoffed.
"I could beg."
"Beg," Lorelei mockingly exclaimed, "A Gilmore never begs."
"Oooh, I have an idea," Rory grinned.
"Tell Mommy."
"You'll find out."
"So you're not telling me?"
"Nope."
"You're not telling the person that raised you, that took care of you, your best friend?"
"No."
"Mean."
